Perfect Marinara Sauce

Ready: 30 minutes, simmer for a bit
Yields: 4 cups
Homemade marinara is almost as fast and tastes immeasurably better than even the best store-bought sauces, and it's made with basic pantry ingredients.
Ingredients
● 3 Tbsp of olive oil
● 5-6 thinly sliced or minced garlic cloves
● Pinch of red pepper flakes
● 1 Tsp of dried oregano
● 28-oz can of San Marzano Plum Tomatoes, preferably organic with a non-BPA lining can
● Handful of fresh basil
● Season with salt and pepper
Preparation
Combine 3 tablespoons olive oil, 7-8 thinly sliced garlic cloves, 1 tsp. dried oregano and a pinch of red pepper flakes in a large skillet and cook over medium-low heat until the garlic is golden- approximately 6 minutes.
Crush a 28-ounce can of San Marzano plum tomatoes into the skillet with your hands or large spoon; rinse the can with about 1 cup water and add to the sauce.
Add a handful of torn basil leaves and season with salt.
Increase the heat to medium and simmer, uncovered, until thick, 20 to 25 minutes.
Toss with 1 pound cooked pasta (makes 4 cups sauce).
