Dreamy Pesto Sauce



Ready in: 10 minutes


Serves: Approximately 2.5 cups of pesto


Pesto is an easy sauce to make once and eat many ways and times.





Ingredients:


⁣4 oz package of basil, cleaned and de-stemmed⁣

3/4 cup olive oil⁣

3-4 garlic cloves⁣

1/2 teaspoon of salt or to taste⁣

3/4 cup pine nuts⁣

Optional: 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan⁣


Preparation:


Blend all the ingredients at once in a food processor; you can use a blender but may need to add more olive oil.⁣


I make a batch of pesto and keep it the fridge to use in the days to come.

Some dishes to make with the pesto:⁣

  • Add it to a pasta and chicken dish⁣

  • Use it on sandwiches in place of mayo, my son has an egg allergy, and it’s been a great alternative. My children eat it with it turkey. ⁣

  • Pesto pizza- brush pesto on French bread, top with shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, whatever toppings you like, and broil until cheese melts⁣

  • In your salad dressing, whisk together 1/4 cup pesto with 2 tbsp of your favorite vinegar ⁣
